Next month in Pikeville, KY will make my 10th EC show since 2006. But I have never heard Eric play "Lightning" live at any of them! So Eric, if you're readin' this, I'd love to hear you play it at Pikeville during your acoustic solos!

Obviously an awesome song. Particularly well suited to solo acoustic performance. Has he addressed his reluctance in any interviews?
In this current tour, he plays two acoustic songs "Sinners Like Me" and "Two Pink Lines." As much as I like "Two Pink Lines," I honestly would rather hear "Lightning!" If I get the chance to talk to him backstage, I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask, right?!?! :)

Been to several shows myself and have not heard it live either. Hoping for the same at the Bloomington, IL show.
I have never seen him perform it live. Is it a reluctance or is it just now he has to pick and choose from more material? be cool if you got to ask him.

Sorry dan, that's a very rare song for him to play, even back in 2006 when he only had "Sinners Like Me" out he only occasionally did that song. Good luck on him playing it but I probably wouldn't hold my breath for it. I've been lucky enough to hear him play it twice.
