Could you please fix the forum so new posts to threads appear at the bottom? It's SO confusing having them at the top and trying to figure out what was said prior and forget about trying to figure it all out when there is a quote going on! I just give up and quit reading things, lol.
It would really help making this forum more fun to read.
Thanks for your time!
Chris

First off, thanks for not only reading, but responding. I really appreciate knowing I'm not talking to outer space but a real person :)
Second, I'm an old dog and changes make me crazy, lol. I will give the feed a shot again, although I didn't like it before but am willing to try it again.
Third, is it that difficult to fix this one? Honestly, I don't know how hard it would be and maybe that is the reason it hasn't been changed? I know a lot of us from the older days of Eric Church's web site, really like the forum ways of things but if it's too difficult, I understand. On the other hand, if it's an easy fix, you sure could make a LOT of us happy :).
Once again, thank you for your response!!!
Chris
Thank you for responding .... but I agree with Chris.
As much as I don't like this forum, I hate the Main Feed even more! Yes, it's laid out similar to FB, which is a good thing - but the font color is too dark and hard to read. That's not the biggie though. If I want to have (or watch) a conversation about something, I have to scroll back through hundreds of "Can't wait until XXX" and "How do I get a M&G" posts to find it.
Call me outdated and tell me I need to move forward if you want, but *I* like to have conversations and it's just too damn hard on this forum. Hence, the lack of traffic and lack of feedback.
It would be great if you could "PIN" some of these questions that are constantly asked - coz it seems the newbies don't know how to look back a page or two to find the thread.
I check in occasionally - because I miss The Choir - but this new site still sux and not sure MCN is willing to change it (they pay more attention to the main feed because we are outdated and need to move forward!! really??)
Yes, let's talk about it ....

I have to say that I agree with these ladies 110% ~ These boards are very confusing and hard to follow. I don't care for the live feed.
I have to say having been in the EC community for a LOOOOONG time (longer then MCN lol), the community was always a HUGE HUGE part of Eric's appeal. His boards were *ALWAYS* hoping...and now they are super slow. it's sad to see. :-(
Maybe it's old fashioned....but I miss easy to use message boards...I miss the community....I miss the fun...that was just as much of Eric's appeal as the music.

I hear ya Patti! I certainly haven't been around as long as you ladies and several of the guys but I think the previous format was much easier for topics. I love the new site and I've gotten really used to it, but it took me a while to catch on and I'm fairly certain I'm the only one who has grown accustomed to it.
The feed is great for things like status updates or things that are more personal like the Blog feature. However, if you want to start a more public topic for mass contribution like "Show in Small-town IL" it's somewhat difficult for others to follow that topic/thread in the feed since other posts are continually pushing it to the bottom.
I think another great benefit of the forum is that it is easier to just see 1 line (the topic) when looking through. I know many of us have been looking for a certain thread before and found it more easily by reading the topic headings rather than each individual post from every member until we find the thread we're looking for.
Was that confusing or too lengthy? Yall know how I get long-winded easily online...just wait 'til ya meet me in person if you haven't already, I'm quiet. haha

Yes Patti - I think that is my frustration and you said it so much better!! It's the community/family of "The Choir" that I miss interacting with on here. Perhaps they don't understand the importance of "The Choir" and that we don't think of ourselves as a fan club but more of a family.
Drew, you rock!!
I couldn't even figure out how to get a reply posted here...I did check out the Main Feed...briefly...it struck me as quite "twitterish"...I didn't really see the opportunity to have an actual dialect or conversation of any length...though, I may not have given it enough time...I'm a simple girl...I miss the easy flow of the older message boards that were, indeed, simple...but were always a great place to share and find out new info. Made some great friends through that board and planned many a pre-Church get together...sometimes simple is better...just a thought...I would love for the posts to be listed in chronological order...that makes it much easier to keep up! I really do miss all the chatter on here...I assure you, I have never utilized any other message boards...so I don't have much to compare it to...so, for what it's worth, those are my thoughts on the matter.
I agree with Shawn, Patti, Carla & Drew.....just even trying to figure out who posted what and when they posted it made me crazy!
All I'm asking is that the new posts go to the bottom of the thread so I can read it in chronological order.
Remember, I'm old and get confused really easy! LOL
Thanks again.
Chris,
You have a good point but youre not old ya crazy lady! :-P
...Like these young ladies, I am part of the old guard.... one of the ones who was posting every day on Eric's original website. Like they are saying, the boards are not user friendly to use. The feed is far to limiting. I won't use it for the same reason I won't use twitter. Sometimes 140 characters isn't enough.... our perceived lack of usefulness is why some choir members have set up their own pages on social media sites so we can talk/post/comment the way we used to. Using say...
Facebook ....as a model wouldn't be so bad. :) Steve

Ditto - I rarely check the boards anymore unless I really need something. Too hard to follow!
See the frustration lies in stuff like this....
I tried to answer a new posters question about Eric's band members....
AFTER I posted I realized I had posted my info backwards (lol...I said Driver/Lee were on E's right - but they are on OUR RIGHT)...so I tried to EDIT the post....Nope wouldn't work....there is no delete....so I had typed the correct info...created a new post saying "sorry I had it backwards in the last post" then copy and pasted the correct info - and it reverted to the wrong info....
FINALLY i was able to do a new post w/the correct info. BUT it should have been an easy edit or a delete. The old boards let us delete for a short while before it wouldn't let us.
I was "trying" to follow a thread...read the first thread that was posted, had to scroll to the bottom and read it upwards...then in the midst of that mess was "quotes" so I just gave up!!!!!!!
Even my own thread here is pissing me off trying to figure who posted when ... before or after the person that just posted.
I give up. Sorry Eric.
When reading posts I often have to look at the date and time of the posts to figure it out.

Thanks to MCN for sending out the survey via email regarding our concerns!!
Hope you get some good feedback and are able to follow-through with it.
Chris - if everyone replies to your original post, it goes under there in reverse order; if they reply to a specific post - aka "a quote" - it goes under that (however, I can't reply to a certain post (quote) so all mine are replying to the original post) Got it?? LOL
Carla, I can't reply to peoples' replies either but I developed a crappy "workaround" for it. I have to zoom out really really far so the font is tiny & I can hardly read it to see the box to type in and the "Save" button.
I reported this probably a month or two ago but the web developer must have not been able to resolve this yet...or possibly the message was lost in translation.
To MCN:
Were we all supposed to receive the survey that was sent out today? I know of a few members who did not, including myself.
Thanks!
Drew
way to go Choir ...thanks for listening MCN
...but I still have to admit, I don't really care for the "solid or transparent" posts. On the old forum (Yep, I'm one of the "old guard" too, lol) EVERYTHING was in chronoligical order. Even quotes... See, when someone replied to a quote, it copied the original text above your reply, and placed it at the bottom. It was very simple and easy to figure out what was what and what went where, etc..
I don't know if this matters, but not everyone in the world likes twitter. And not everyone in the world likes facebook, post-changes. It was all over the news, even.
If you go back and look at the old EC forum, it worked. It was always busy. We all loved it and because of the ease of it, we made new and lasting friendships and expanded our families to include one another.

Awwwww, I'm so happy you guys fixed this! There were four new replies since I came in quickly yesterday and they were SO much easier to find and made sense reading them. I think I only saw a couple of them, the other must have been a quoted reply or something, but it's all good! Thank you again and again and again!
I'm trying to do the Main Feed too...I'll keep "practicing" everyday until I figure it out and to see if I like it better or not.
Seriously, thank you again. It's SO much easier to read and keep track of what people are posting.
Chris
Thanks! Much easier to figure out what's going on!!! Very cool that you implemented the suggestions so quickly!!!
glad they are listening to all of you and the comments are in order. Just feel the whole look of the website is to cluttered and dark. Simple is sometimes better. Just my opinion.

Is there a search button around here? I wanted to search a certain thread and I can't seem to find it...so I tried to find a search button and couldn't find that either?
Just curious.

I hardly ever post on this board anymore because I can't tell who I'm responding to or who has responded...it would be much more user friendly (and would have more traffic) if posts were listed in real time!
