The best way to experience Eric Church is live. Every song takes on a new level of intensity and overall awesomeness. Given that the way Eric earned his following was through his live performances, wouldn't it be appropriate for him to release a 'Best of Eric Church' set that is just a compilation of Live Performances. Having seen him live 5 times in the past 14 months, his energy, passion and authenticity are un-matched. I've always enjoyed the live tracks that Paisley, Shelton and Chesney have put out - Church should be next.
I could go for a LIVE CD, but I am ready for some new music. Some of the songs from Chief have already exceeded 400 plays on my ipod alone, not including the times I've listened to it on CD.
His shows are worth EVERY dime! I know a site that could stream his shows live IF we could get them in the door! I'd pay to stream a show online How bout you?

I have been to many, many concerts (many diggerent genres) and can honestly say Eric Church is the most genuine, authentic and exciting. If I could afford it - I'd be a groupie and go to EVERY SHOW...EVEN at my AGE...HAHA.
Just a few reasons he's the best live:
#1 - HE IS THE REAL DEAL!
#2 - he sounds as good live as on his albums (i.e. no offense to his fans, but artists like Brad Paisley sound great on their ablums, have clever songs and videos, but sounds horrible live!)
#3 - ERIC CHURCH LOVES HIS FANS. He will always be that good ol' Carolina boy and he always remembers where he came from. He always remembers the fans that have been loyal Church Choir Fans!!
#4 - Next to Kris Kristofferson - he is the greatest song writer!!! (now my age comes to life!!)
I could go on and on. All this to say - when the time comes that EC releases a live concert dvd - I'll buy MULTIPLE COPIES - Just in case one gets messed up!!! :)

He has streamed his shows live already!!
He mentioned that he would like to release a Live CD and has filmed many, many shows so he has plenty of footage for a DVD. :)

I agree, I would buy multiple copies too :).....i go to every live show I can b/c he is THAT good, the energy, music, just watching him up there, I could go on and on....He's like no one else!
Totally off topic - but I love Carla's "little box comment" at the top of her post! HEEHEE.

I agree that there should be a Live CD and an accompanying DVD. That would be awesome to have in my collection!
Yeah, I'd buy a Live DVD/CD
I'd love to have a well mastered, hard copy of the uptempo version of "The hard way", not to mention the "Fat Bottom Girls" intro to Pledge Allegiance to the Hag.
There's just something about his live shows that would be tough to capture though..
I am sure everyone here knows about this one...

Obviously only the older stuff, but still a great watch.
Happy to say I was there! :)
I'm not sure that combining a "Best Of" and a "Live" CD into one makes much sense from a business aspect. If you were to make them two different CD's you would more than likely make a lot more money because you would be selling two separate CD's to your base audience. Not to mention CHIEF was created with the live audience in mind. I have seen EC three times and would go see him again any time he is remotely close, he's by far the best in the business today, but I'm not sure combining those two types of CD's into one is a sensible idea I do however, agree with everyone that I am ready for some new music. An EP, new album, give us something...
Maybe there will be a lve cd to tide us over til a new album? one can hope ;)
Actually, the ECB will once again be recording live....but this time for a live album!! Super stoked for this. The show where the live album will be recorded is Chattanooga TN in October. I'd look for a release date no later than Spring 2013.

SO EXCITED to hear about the live CD!!!! I cannot wait!!!
Ah yeah! just what i thought, cant wait!
A live CD would be great, but to truly get the EC Experience you have to see the performance! I love watching the man and his band perform!

For a quick fix (pun intended Junkie! lol) you can see Eric perform on Origns and the Opry show. He's been on it all week.
I love this talk of the Live CD and that it's going to happen. If anyone with influence is listening, here's thought. "How Bout You" is a genius song. # 1 Re-release it. # 2 on this live album go back to playing that one with the middle break into Black Betty and Don't Think Hank Done it This Way.
Yes, some royalties will have to be paid but that version is so, so good. That's what a live Cd needs - go a little bit off the beaten path from the CD.
Those two riffs into "I like my country rockin, how bout you....I like my country rockin, how bout you!!" (crowd goes nuts). Forget Dylan and McCartney - that is just genius. And doing it live is magic.
Go to youtube and watch How Bout You from CMA Riverfest. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgRB45eEzPQ Incredible!!

Thank you. Yes, I've said that here a few times. Absolutely agree. A live album with a couple "bonus tracks" of some of his best loved covers.
And.....while they're at it - put out a Live Concert DVD companion with it.
I sure hope someone out there is listening. It's a no brainer!!
