I am sure most, if not all, of the fans there were disappointed. Myself included. But it was more than a small storm. The wind gusted over 70 mph and tore down trees and power lines close by the stadium and in nearby communities. I have family that live nearby and the wind destruction was massive. The structural integrity of the stage was compromised, and according to a local newspaper article, the wind moved a 5000 lb concrete barrier more than 7 ft. That to me is more than a small storm. Granted, there was very little rain and lightning, but the wind was the dangerous part. Please don't think I am being confrontational. I am not - it is just so many people are bad mouthing the organization that hosted, the bands and crews, and the law enforcement and paramedics. They did the very best they could given the time frame and urgency of the situation. I am sure this was the last thing they thought they were going to have to do. I also hope that they will reschedule the concert. I just hope that everyone remembers that no one controls mother nature and sometimes there is more going on behind the scenes than what meets the eyes. I am sure that if the show could have went on it would have.
I was unaware of the severity of the storm until after I posted that. Nevertheless, it was still brief in the area of Mitchell Stadium, and if the stage didn't sustain possible damage, the show could have gone on. But they made the right call, nowhere in my original post did I dispute that. The only thing I disagreed with was the mass consumption of alcohol that went on at this concert, before and after, during tailgating, etc. When you have thousands of people in a stadium and over half of them are intoxicated, it makes it that much harder to evacuate in times of emergency. Not to mention, I know all those people probably didn't have designated drivers and since the show was cancelled 1/3 of the way through, they didn't have time to sober up any at all. I'm just glad no one was reported injured or killed. The organizers and local law enforcement handled the evacuation very well.
An announcement was made that the show would be rescheduled, and I had no doubts about that. Other than griping about all the alcohol being served at the event, the organization is a class act and made the right decisions regarding the storm. And I knew Eric would want to come back just like he did with Buffalo. It's all good, my friends.
I was suprised when my date and I went to get water, and his buddies(which were 16)had been able to buy a case of beer without being asked for an I.D!! That is VERY DANGEROUS!! not just for the Boys, but the workers also!!! like you said before Dan, its fine to have a few drinks every now-and-then, but over drinking and serving it to "chidren"... that's where you cross the line!!! i hope when they decided the day of the concert, they will be alil more strict with the drinking.. See ya sooooooooon, havve FUNN, and most of all BE SAFE!!!
So whats the deal is this going to be rescheduled?
at this show u could buy a case of beer??... and not just one or two at a time....thats insane
The Bloomington IL show which was also rediculous was allowing each person to purchase 4 adult beverages per trip. I don't understand why you wouldn't take a friend with you if you needed four? It was a drunkfest and not fun having so many inebriated folks around.
I enjoy my beverages just as much as the next guy, but the level of these folks was just crazy.

So whats the deal? I mean I have been to over forty ecb shows but this is not very organized. I mean let us know is there going to be a reschedule or not? People spent alot of money on these tickets and we are left out of the information circle.
Per Ticketmaster, this show will be made up but a date has not been able to be scheduled yet at this time. Ticketmaster should contact you via email when a make-up date has been scheduled. Your tickets will be valid for the new date.
Sounds great...So do you know if they will reissue new tickets or what?
I do not know if new tickets will be issued or if the original tickets will be used.
Per the Second Chance Facebook page, they said you should use the original ticket stubs, however if you misplaced them, they also said you could use the ticket receipts from Ticketmaster.
Sorry to hear that the show was cancelled, but better to be safe as teh saying goes. Sounds like the Buffalo show that I went to (weather and alcohol), but EC did reschedule and within a months time which was great. Only part was when the tickets were reissued they randomly assigned seats which was not cool, but it seems you wont have that problem. Hope it gets rescheduled soon.

I totally agree with your comments! It was the worst organization ever and not even letting people know it was cancelled was ridiculious. I vented about this on the show comments early this morning. I hope they do reschedule this concert.
