The interview asks the question: what new country stars are you both excited about.
McGraw: Jerrod Niemann
Chesney. There is a difference between having a few songs on the radio and having a career, the one who stands out the most to me is Eric Church. He's a real artist. He didnt come up on some karaoke contest.
Next Question: Eric Church took some hear for saying that if you come up on American Idol or the Voice you're not a real country star. Do you agree?
McGraw: I just think everybod has a dream. Go for it.
Chesney: Me Too. I will say that I like the way he's doing it right now. It isnt the only way, but it might be the honest way, and that way usually works out the best. On the other hand, you can't deny the success of Carrier Underwood.
McGraw: Ultimately, it doesnt matter how you do it. The Truth is going to sick sooner or later.
It seemed like there was a lot of people speaking out against him so I'm really glad to hear someone defend Church.

I couldn't possibly agree more with what Eric said. For the last three years, my wife and I have almost came to blows over American Idol. Every year I argue that there's some guy out there right now in a bar, singing for tips, that smokes all of these people. And the sad thing is, he has to be at work in the morning. She doesn't get it, and neither do the karaoke singers that disagree. I may be bitter because I've been on that smokey bar room stage, and here I sit working 40 hours a week.
