I just heard on no shoes radio that Eric will be opening for Kenny on this years summer stadium tour. This is my first post as a ember but i have been reading the forums forever. As much as some of you think this is a bad idea, I think playing in front of these massive artists will help bring EC some more fans. I am alittle bummed though i was hoping he would take the time off to write.
On June 29th they will be in Columbus Ohio. :)
I do realize why some are/will be upset, but with the support Kenny shows to Eric, I think it is tremendous and I am also excited. Kenny I believe is a sincere person, and I figure he thinks Eric deserves this. It took Kenny a while to become so huge in the business, and I think KC admires the way Eric has done it and never gave up. I have seen Chesney a couple times, once at Heinz field, and that says a lot because I hate Heinz field. You better believe I will be there on June 22, 2013 though, and Eric Church is the only one who can make me want to be there. I can not wait, and I think Eric deserves this spotlight because I know he just wants to play his music because that's what he loves. He could care less about the hype that comes with it. He just wants to play for his true fans. More power to Kenny for getting him on board.

Kenny had a lot of nice things to say about Eric during the live broadcast on his radio station this AM, including calling him a "true artist." Great chance to see Eric during a year where he's said he won't do a full tour!
Kenny just announced he is coming to Target Field, Minneapolis on his No Shoes Nation tour. In the article it said it was Kenny, Zac Brown Band, Eli Yound. There was no mention of Eric Church. Does anyone know if Eric Church is joining this tour? If so will he be on for every concert of the tour? I need to know if he is coming back to MN, this concert would be unreal!
ECB will be on tour at all stadium stops except 3. These three can be found by checking the Kenny Chesney or Zac Brown Band websites as ZBB will be filling in for EC on those dates.

Kenny Chesney has mapped out his No Shoes Nation tour calendar with shows scheduled in 17 stadiums in 2013. Eric Church will be the special guest on most dates, while the Zac Brown Band will step in for three shows on the itinerary.
The Eli Young Band ("Even if It Breaks Your Heart") and Kacey Musgraves ("Merry Go Round") are scheduled to appear on all dates.
The first tour stop will be Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla., on March 16. Then there will be a break until the tour resumes on May 4, followed by a concert nearly every weekend through late August.
"I believe what we've created on the road is something special -- the fans, myself, the band, the crew," says Chesney, "But it's really the fans who have given us a wonderful, unique life. What we've all built together is the No Shoes Nation. There is no better name for this tour."
The tour will be sponsored by Corona Light.

Although several of you make good points about the amount of exposure this will give Eric, I am just not sure what these concerts will be like. In my mind, the crowd that Kenny usually attracts is much different than all the good people I have befriended at Eric's shows. And yes, Eric did say he was not going to be doing a full blown tour next year, so this does get him out on the road again. But it also limits the places they can go because Kenny is definitely not going to be playing the venues Eric would. There aren't as many stadiums in the world as arenas. At this point in time, Kenny also does not have any stops in Tennessee. Why not come back to Nashville (or even Knoxville in his beloved East Tennessee to play at Neyland)? Oh wait, he thinks he was born on an island instead of in the mountains...my bad.
But at the end of the day, this will be good for Eric. So with that in mind, I am not necessarily excited about the pairing, but I am supportive of the decision.
Columbia SC and Atlanta GA dates are listed on Eric's tour page yet everything else says Zac Brown is doing these shows...which is correct ?
I think the pairing is fantastic. It's not as obvious as zac brown or tim mcgraw. But it has made my day. I disagree with the "type" of fan these shows attract. I've been going to see Kenny at Gillette every year since 2006, and they have seriously been some of the best concert experiences of my life. Kenny can bring a crowd like no other, and his show is amazing and entertaining. I've never felt that kind of energy before. I've also been going to Eric Church for years and he is by far my favorite artist. I remember seeing him in 08 in a small club in Boston that holds maybe 500 people. I've seen him come up through the rank here is the northeast and all of his recent shows have sold out. This tour allows me to see two of my favorite artist, on a day that i look forward to all year. It's not really Summer til Kenny plays. I think it's great that eric is joining and I think it's amazing that he'll be playing to 60K people. The true fans will come into see him, that's the way it always is. No matter your thoughts on Kenny's music, he's created such a movement around his shows that anyone lucky enough to join him will feel the benefit. Congrats Eric! You deserve it! I'll hopefully be in the sandbar!
Man the Chief is way too bad ass to be hangin with the little island cowboy and eli young band. Next somebody is gonna say he's doing a duet with kelly clarkson. Sai its a dream!
I think this will be awesome for both artists! I think they would both see this as a great time to expand on their fan bases.

Yes Kenny wants him on his tour and why wouldn't he?!!! EC is quickly becoming big so him being on Kenny's tour will help Kenny. Not to mention how electric EC is live. And Kenny is a businessman - he has been around the block before, that's why he is supportive of EC and where he is going.
Just soooooo incredibly grateful that I get to see EC on his headlining tour and not have to shell out one penny to support Kenny. He is not my kinda country music at all.
I love Kenny Chesney his music and his shows are great and besides that I will be at any show Eric is performing at so count me in! eric is businessman/marketer too, smart move to go on tour with Kenny and broaden his fan base, do only 20 or so weekend/summer shows and able to take some time off, it's a win/win for him and if you want to see Eric in 2013 this may be your only chance. Kenny and eric actually have a lot in common in their "overnight success"!! I watched Backstory on Kenny a few weeks ago and he was told he was too short and too chubby to be a star but he is fighter like eric. He defiitely changed the chubby part ;) Kenny's fan club is $25 so might be good to join to get better seats. I wonder if Eric will have VIP parties at KC shows?
Im really excited that at least I can see the ECB a few times in 2013 instead of none. I went to Orion and withstood a day of music Im not in love with just to see EC, so I think I can stand thru Kacey/EYB and if Im not lovin Kenny I will leave. To me, its $$ well spent. Just hope there is not an issue gettin tix :)

I will not be going. I looked at ticket prices for the PA show when the presale went up and i pulled tickets all the way in the last few rows on the floor and they were 150 each?!?!?! 150 for a seat in which i wont be able to see anything except a big screen if that even. when i can wait for eric to tour on his own again (even if that means a whole year without him) for 35$ and be next to the stage i will do that.

Emily, Ithink you have a great idea about joing Kennys fan club just to get better seats. I think Im going to do that. Since we travel to concerts and make a long weekend out of it, our biggest expenses are always on airfare, hotel, car rental, etc., so Ill spend what we ahve to to get better seats. Th;nking of going to Angel Stadium concert so we can make a vacation of it take kids and go to Disneyland and Knots Berry FArm. ready or not here we come Gia!

We're talking huge stadiums here, with HUGE production costs. Even with the tickets as expensive as they are, Kenny must be doing something right as his stadium shows sell out! When Eric headlines stadiums his tickets will be increasing as well. Bigger costs to put on the show = higher ticket prices.
see this is what i'm saying..the ticket prices are NUTS. that's why i'm ify about going to the concert..now i always bought 8 tickets for his shows because my friends wanted to go and they paided me back for the tickets but i highly doubt my friends want to pay 100+ per ticket and to be honest i don't want to sit in the nose bleed section..this up coming tour leaves me with some negative feelings..i liked KC older stuff but now i can't stand him.. i don't want to pay that much and leave after Eric church i might as well get my money's worth and stay for KC...the shows i saw EC at he made good choices in who he was touring with but this one im not to sure..and i dont think he needs any exposure his album won album of the year..i remember seeing him in small clubs in NJ before he played in big venues and to me that was the best time of my life..
Well, there will be no more small clubs where ticket prices are small, only bigger shows with bigger prices. That's the reality of it all.
If you do go to the Kenny shows, please stay for his set, he is entertaining and you just might be surpised.

The decision for EC to do this goes against everything we've always heard about him. Chesney just sucks, when I hear him it makes me wanna yank out my radio. Yall have fun on the sandbar surrounded by straw hats and sissy's with fruity drinks!
Hey Cowboyman88! You need to look at the Kenny shows a little bit differently. With all those Girly songs and sissy fruit drinks, there's gonna be a lot of girlies at the show and if you are a single guy, that could work in your favor!

I just want to say I went to the EC/BG concert in the spring... AMAZING show... I also went to the Brothers of the Sun tour... Grace Potter was pretty kick ass, Jake Owen was hardly on stage, and Timmy and Kenny were GREAT. It takes more crews and more equipment to put on bigger shows... due to that, ticket prices are higher... Would I love to see EC at a small venue again- Hell Yes... But am I going to try my damndest to get PreSale tix to the No Shoes concert ABSOLUTELY. Its a great time. My only complaint right now is I just found out about the tour dates and presale due to a Church Choir email... I am a Kenny Fan Club member too and didn't hear a peep about presale and now I can only purchase singles from there... Fingers crossed that I can get 4 from the EC presale! BF will be so freaking excited (esp since I have his Navy buddy and GF on board to come up for the WI show from TN).

But it also limits the places they can go because Kenny is definitely not going to be playing the venues Eric would. There aren't as many stadiums in the world as arenas. At this point in time, Kenny also does not have any stops in Tennessee. Why not come back to Nashville (or even Knoxville in his beloved East Tennessee to play at Neyland)? Oh wait, he thinks he was born on an island instead of in the mountains...my bad.
But at the end of the day, this will be good for Eric. So with that in mind, I am not necessarily excited about the pairing, but I am supportive of the decision.
Kenny Chesney has mapped out his No Shoes Nation tour calendar with shows scheduled in 17 stadiums in 2013. Eric Church will be the special guest on most dates, while the Zac Brown Band will step in for three shows on the itinerary.
The Eli Young Band ("Even if It Breaks Your Heart") and Kacey Musgraves ("Merry Go Round") are scheduled to appear on all dates.
The first tour stop will be Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla., on March 16. Then there will be a break until the tour resumes on May 4, followed by a concert nearly every weekend through late August.
"I believe what we've created on the road is something special -- the fans, myself, the band, the crew," says Chesney, "But it's really the fans who have given us a wonderful, unique life. What we've all built together is the No Shoes Nation. There is no better name for this tour."
The tour will be sponsored by Corona Light.

Kenny just announced he is coming to Target Field, Minneapolis on his No Shoes Nation tour. In the article it said it was Kenny, Zac Brown Band, Eli Yound. There was no mention of Eric Church. Does anyone know if Eric Church is joining this tour? If so will he be on for every concert of the tour? I need to know if he is coming back to MN, this concert would be unreal!
Kenny had a lot of nice things to say about Eric during the live broadcast on his radio station this AM, including calling him a "true artist." Great chance to see Eric during a year where he's said he won't do a full tour!
I do realize why some are/will be upset, but with the support Kenny shows to Eric, I think it is tremendous and I am also excited. Kenny I believe is a sincere person, and I figure he thinks Eric deserves this. It took Kenny a while to become so huge in the business, and I think KC admires the way Eric has done it and never gave up. I have seen Chesney a couple times, once at Heinz field, and that says a lot because I hate Heinz field. You better believe I will be there on June 22, 2013 though, and Eric Church is the only one who can make me want to be there. I can not wait, and I think Eric deserves this spotlight because I know he just wants to play his music because that's what he loves. He could care less about the hype that comes with it. He just wants to play for his true fans. More power to Kenny for getting him on board.
