This was my first show of seeing Eric headline and all I can say is WOW!!!! He knocked me on my ass so bad it took me most of the day today to get back up! I still can barely talk from all the screaming I did. Let me start by saying having been in the Pit to other concerts does not compare at all to Eric's show! This show wins hands down!!! For my account of the day. I drove 3 hours to get to Ft Wayne and by the time I got there and checked into my hotel it was 4:30. I rushed getting changed and got to the venue at about 5:30. There was already line about 25 people deep. Then they said to form 8 lines. So I went to a different line with about 10 people lucky me! Doors open and I ran with a few other girls to the Pit! When I got there I was 2nd row back on left side of the stage. This was a huge Pit the biggest I have ever seen! I was jumping I was so excited! There 2 girls and 1 guy standing in front of me who I got to talking to they got myself along with a couple of others to save their spots when they went to a Meet & Greet with Brantley Gilbert. Since I was there alone I said no problem and asked if they could get me a beer when they returned and they said they would. Any way got to talking to a few people around me and there was probably about 10 of us all together that were talking and partying together! Had 1 of them take a picture of me with my shirt (front & back). At 7:30 Sonia Leigh came on and she was really good! Got the crowd going and into the partying mood! After she went off the 3 people we were saving their spots came back with my beer in hand. YEAH!!! I was dying of thirst!!! Next up was Brantley Gilbert! I knew 2 of his songs but did not know too much about him. Let me tell you this guy ROCKS!!!! He had me standing there screaming and really liking his music. Singing some Jason Aldean songs helped since I knew the songs! By the time he went off I was so ready for Eric! While waiting we had an incident happen. A fight just about broke out. Some girl that we had not seen before pushed her way past me and right to the front of the stage. One of the girls and a guy who was in front of me started arguing with her. Words were said and beer was thrown. Yes I got soaked with beer too! Any way security came over and had the girl who pushed her way through leave. I got the understanding the she had just come from the Meet & Greet but still you do not push your way past all of these people. It is one of the downfalls of getting a meet & greet. I stayed out of it because I did not want to be thrown out! Any way the girl who threw the beer apologized to me & I said it was ok but next time warn me so I can open my mouth. She laughed! Now it was almost time for Eric and I was so excited my heart was racing! I heard the beginning of Country Music Jesus and started screaming! Here he came up from the stage right in front of me! I was jumping up & down and screaming so loud! It took me halfway into the song to realize I wasn't taking pictures. I guess I was kind of in shock! There he was directly in front of me! I had waited 2 1/2 months for this! I stood there singing every song, word for word right along with him! I did notice it seemed like he kept looking right at me, not sure if he was but he might have been trying to see my shirt better. He rocked through every song had me screaming so much! Watching him on stage and a few times seeing him step back from the microphone in total amazement! You could tell how humble and grateful he was for his fans! Quite a few times we started to chant Eric Church which was awesome! It was one big party down there in the Pit and this is exactly what an Eric Church concert is all about!!! He defiantly entertained this girl!!! When he started singing "Smoke A Little Smoke" (my favorite song) I just about lost it! I absolutely love this song but nothing like hearing it live! Then with "These Boots" I had been standing there with 1 boot on and 1 boot off for a few songs because I could not remember the order of the songs. Anyway I had my boot in hand and finally got to participate in this song! It was awesome! By the end of this show I still did not want this show to end I wanted it to keep going on! I looked down at my phone and saw on my countdown I had 60 more days until Columbus show! Already looking forward to it! So happy I am doing back to back Columbus & Lexington shows. Although not sure yet if I am doing the VIP party in Lexington or just miss it to get a good spot in the Pit. After this show I can say I Love Eric even more! Wish I had been a part of this from the beginning. After hearing some of these stories about the smaller places he played wish I had been there. I got to say I do have to meet this man someday but until then I will see as many shows as possible!!! I have heard people ask Pit or reserved seating? Well my opinion is there is nothing like the Party in the Pit and being that close to Eric! Once you are in the Pit you will never want to go back!!! Do not have the pictures ready yet but once I do I will post them on this thread hoping in the next few days.

My new saying is "Eric Knocked Me On My Ass Again Tonight"

Sounds like you were about 6

Sounds like you were about 6 feet away from me. Yes, it was a great show as all of his shows are. I looked around many times to see if the crowd was standing. They never sat down. Not even in the upper bowl did I ever see people sitting. You know how at most country shows there's a slow song that people will sit down for and then it takes playing a faster song to bring them back up? Doesn't happen at an Eric Church show. That's always drove me nuts. I know a slow song may be a big hit, but at a live show people just want to party. That's what makes his show so great. He's got a few slow "lovey dovey" songs but he leaves them off the setlist.

That being said

Rick,
That being said one of the best songs I've ever heard him do live, was in Seattle when he played "Lightning" It was awesome. Occasionally I like a slow song just so I can catch my breath and get ready for ther next round.

Parker - Totally agree about

Parker -

Totally agree about Lightning. I wouldn't mind that one. As for slow songs, I'm talking more about the "love songs". Something like "She Makes It Look So Easy". People may love that song, but to me that's a real downer at a live show.

He does Love Your Love the Most, but that is such a sing a long kind of song that it keeps people up.

He really doesn't have more than a few of those slow type of songs I'm talking about. That's what I like about him.

I used to really like Tim McGraw, then he got married and had 3 girls and his music went all sappy. He's come back a bit though.

Saying this tongue in cheek...Glad Eric had a boy!!
