The slowing pace for 2013 will definitely be worth it. Eric is one of the best songwriters of the current generation and always has been. Very excited for some time to let the creativity go wild! Also it'll be nice for EC to have a little more time with the family next year. It's as if the ECB has been on tour non-stop for the last 6 years

I think new music will be coming sooner than we think. I know EC doesn't make records just for the sake of making records, but with his recent 5 nominations for CMA awards I think he'll strike while the iron is blazing hot without compromising his artistic integrity. There's alot of mileage left in CHIEF, yes, but if you recall write before coming out with Homeboy EC had said he planned to go another year (at least) without coming out with a new album... 6ish months later we had CHIEF in our hands. The Live Album will be bad ass, but I will be shocked if he doesn't come up with something that's sold gold, and have ours ears addicted to it by June or July of next year at the latest.
egordon, I highly doubt there will be a new studio album next Summer but maybe a new single. Eric took a month off from touring in October 2010 to write Chief and then recorded most of the album in the Fall of 2010, all of which was known. He will typically write about 70 songs before he starts recording. On average it has been about 3 years between album so I would expect a new studio album possibly late 2013. Would love something sooner but he has to take some time to write first...

hmm, maybe the kenny rumour might happen..he does do 10-15 stadium shows in between the smaller ones

He did say he would only be doing about 15 or so shows next year and a few in canada. Def not a lot of shows so hopefully he comes near me. BUT on the other hand super excited for him to start writing again, only good can come from that! he's worth a year wait or however long it takes!
