I honestly cannot wait for this concert. Eric has been coming to Minneapolis for years now, with many shows being played at The Cabooze. He would rock this place and his following in Minnesota would grow every year he came back, and each show was better and better. He played their multiple times, then grew so much he had an outdoor concert in The Cabooze patio/parking lot - one of the best shows I have ever seen. He even threw on the Brett Favre Vikings jersey on stage, this was just when Favre came to the Vikes.
His following in MN grew so large he couldn't play at this small of a venue anymore. Church then played the following summer at the State Theatre in downtown Minneapolis. This show was the loudest I have heard any audience. After he played his encore the crowd was yelling so loud and getting so crazy the band started taking pictures of the fans. It was literally a mad house.
Last summer Eric Church came to play at the MN State Fair which was amazing, one of the first venues he played his hit "Springsteen" at. He was opening for Toby Keith, both were awesome, but everyone realized it was time for Church to headline his own tour.
From my own opinion I think Minnesota is one of Eric Church's biggest fan bases. I am so pumped to get the VIP tickets for his show this Thursday 5/17 at the Target Center, Minneapolis.
If I had 1 request I would love to see Eric Church open up singing "Fat Bottomed Girls" as he leads into "Pledge Allegiance to the Hag." I am not sure the last time Church has done this, but everytime he does the crowd goes crazy and it is EPIC.
I've been to every show he's played in MN. The first show at the Cabooze was one of my favorites. You know how performers talk about raising the roof (including Eric!)? I would have sworn it was actually going to happen that night. The crowd was so into every song, and being in that small venue created so much intensity, you could feel it. I've got my VIP tix for tomorrow night too! See you at the pre-show party! Can't wait!
I can't even get anything done at work in anticipation for this concert. I got the VIP tickets and General admission floor seats. I hope it gets loud and roudy and he shows everyone he deserves headlining his own tour.
I have ONE VIP ticket available for tomorrow night's show. Not trying to profit from this, just need to cover the $$ spent which was $200. My son was gonna go but can't now because he got a job (thank GOD). Since they are will-call tix (great idea by the way Eric!) we'll have to meet and go pick them up together. First one to message me can have it. Figured this was the best place to post it so it can go to a true fan.
As I understand it the entire floor is considered "general admission". So if you can "fight" your way to the front anyone can be in the "first row", which is cool on one hand, but I'm personally more of a lover than a fighter. ;-) I've heard at a few other venues with similar GA floor layout there was a special roped off "VIP" section close to the stage for those who purchased the "drink in your hand vip" tix. Anyone know if that will be the case tonight at Target Center??????
(Guess we'll find out in a few hours huh?!! Can't F'in wait!!!!!!!)
Haha! I love hearing from you other Eric Church super fans. I've been there since his start at the Cabooze, and I loved the @cdrussel reminders fom each show on his way to his headlining tour. See you all on the floor tonight!
(...and I wish he'd play the full version of "Livin' Part of Life", since that song is such a blast live... but I just saw him in St Louis, and he cuts it really short.)
The Black Label Lounge performance was probably one of the cooest experiences of my life. My husband and I can't wait for Eric to come back to MN! On the way out of the stadium we decided to stop at Hubert's for one(or two) more drinks before we headed back to our hotel room. While we were there some jackass stole our posters out of the bag hanging on the back of the chair......FURIOUS!!!!! Does anyone know how we can get our hands on a couple of the posters that we never even got a chance to see what they looked like? Already had a spot in my cubicle cleared out to hang it and my husband has a country music shrine in the garage he was SUPER excited about adding a signed EC poster to. Any help or ideas would be awesome:(
My girlfriend and I went to this concert together in VIP and have 2 posters. We hung one up in the house, and have the other poster just sitting against the wall in my basement. If you haven't found one yet, I would be willing to let you have it from hearding your story. Sounds like that guy needs an ass kicking. Let me know if you would still like to meet up and claim your gift! If not I am sure someone of my friends will eventually ask me for it.

I loved your post and cannot agree more with everything you said. He should open with Fat Bottom Girls. I cannot wait to start drinking beer!
