First of all, I want to give a big shout out to ALL the choir members I met from all over the country last night. You guys rock! I came from CT. I met peps from Minnesota, Canada, Chicago, NY, NJ, LA, NH...hope to keep in touch!
A bunch of us sat in that hot sun for 4+hrs waiting and then another 2 hrs at the front of the stage. I'm glad we brought the crayola markers to make our signs!!!!
The show was exactly what he said it would be. Very small venue, very intimate. Eric with his songwriters..(who btw are incredibly talented)....and Eric just talking about each songwriter and song. Went through the whole album, song by song. AWESOME! It was only 1 hr. We were ALL hoping to get him back out to sing 1 more, but he didn't. :( BUT, he did come and slap our hands and said thanks for coming.
But my high wasn't over just yet. I was lucky enough to get a guitar pick and GET THIS....HIS actual drink in MY hand. A nice cup of JD and coke. Super strong too! We decided to hang out (about 10 of us) and also had the opportunity to meet him after the show. He was very gracious. Let everyone take pictures, hugs and signed all of our Chief CD's.
Most of all, I was able to have a great conversation with him. Talked about his #1 on Itunes (we high fived), I told him I couldn't wait to hear his new songs about his little one being born soon (he's excited to see how life changes), told him I would smoke with him anytime (got a laugh and a nice wink with that one), and more!
Well, I'm hardly awake and I need to get some work done before anyone notices I've done crap!
P.S. We also spoke of my dislike of Toby Keith and the whole Choir seating issue (email me and I'll tell ya more):)
Great to meet EVERYONE! ♥♥ Kristen

I was up on the balcony - was a little bummed at first but turned out to be a great view! I've never seen him from that far back!
Awesome show :-) Very proud of Mr. Church.

OMG...Patti I didn't know you were going!! I would of loved to meet up with ya again.
Yeah I suprised a few people....it was a show that I had a little help getting to or I wouldn't have been there....plus it was into NYC @ 2pm - eat, show, hotel and out by 6:30am
I was in and out of NYC faster then my angels can fly ;)
If you were in the group of people after the show.....I was in that group too :D In a bright bright blue shirt lol.
I ended up getting lost going in circles coming of the 6 subway line. The hotel directions told me to take some right that didn't exist at the point on the map and I went in circles for like 45 minutes. Got in just after 7. I wish he played longer, but he must be in such high demand now it's understandable.
Mike I think we may have seen you walking away at the end of the night?
Darn we missed you :(
We got lost on the subway at one point..*boo*. But we did ok after that. Sorry you had so much trouble getting there (you could have walked around w/a gps like i did lol)
I will never forget it and all the Choir that showed up to support EC.

You folks who hang out in line hours before EC's shows have my utmost respect. I didn't arrive at the venue until 7:20 when the line was already moving. I still fortunately ended up being only ten feet or so from the stage. It was a fun night. It was very similar to the fan club party in Nashville; I might have been the only person to have attended both events.
When EC announced that CHIEF was the #1 album, the place went crazy. Jeff Hyde, Brett Favre (you would have to have been there to know the 'Brett Favre' joke), and all of other songwriters were great.
All in all, just a darn cool evening in Manhattan.

Still waking up from yesterday - seemed like a dream!
It was everything Kristen said in her post.
It was really great to meet choir members from around the country and hopefully we'll meet again at other shows.
Sipping his drink was incredible. And yes, it was super strong! I have to give Kristen credit for drinking the rest of it:)
Meeting him and talking to him was really the highlight of the night. He took his time with everyone. He even let us re-take pictures that didn't come out.
And when it was over, he got into a NYC taxi!
