I think its total crap the way tickets were sold for the Omaha George Strait show. This would have been THE concert for me to see. LOVE EC, and Strait would have just been gravy.
I got a pre-sale code, was online at exactly 10am to buy. Sold out.
The public sale happened today - was online at ticketmaster again at 10am exactly. Sold out.
Was on the phone with ticketmaster at 10:13 (after being on hold) and sold out. Couldn't even get a single ticket.
Yet, I can go to ticketexpress, stubhub and all these other ticket brokers and they have thousands of tickets available. Oh, but three, four, even five times the price.
What a joke. The way this system works for getting tickets really screws people. The sick thing is, I want to see this show so badly, that I am going to support this terrible system and pay $535 for 1 single ticket.
I just don't see how its possible to be ready to buy tickets the exact minute they go on sale - yet they are sold out. But Stubhub, Ticketexpress and many others have TONS of seats available to purchase.
Hope this reaches Eric - I hope he knows what is happening to his fans in Omaha.
Yeah, I agree with you guys. What a joke! I had 3 devices going for tickets during the GS presale and even more people working on getting tix when the public sale started...no luck. Checked stubhub about 1 minute after the tickets went on sale, 3300 available.
It was very hard to get tickets. I finally managed to get handicapped tickets thursday morning.
I got tickets, but it was hard. I had to request handicap and those were the only tickets left in the arena. I got these tickets thursday morning.
I've been through the same thing several times in the past. A lot of times what happens is the tickets are held for a certain amount of time after a person clicks on them. Usually 5-15 minutes. I've been able to get great seats after sales have been open for a while because people didn't buy them. The key is persistence.
I do realize it sucks but you also have to remember how much in demand these shows are. Not only do Eric's fans want tickets, but also George's fans. This isn't your run of the mill 50 date tour.
That's why I liked the way his tour was held in 2012 you had to have your card at the door to get in no transferring of tickets to other people. Makes it so the brokers can't screw you. Sadly a big tour like George won't do that but it makes it so we can all get to the shows that makes it affordable
I can't agree with you more. Of course Ticketmaster doesn't care as long as they sell out it doesn't matter to them if all the tickets are bought through a broker or an average joe. It's
completely mafia the way this has gotten. All that "bot" technology they use to combat ticket scalpers from buying huge blocks of tickets is a complete joke and waste of time. I even tried on Tuesday morning when the AMEX presale started at 10:00am with two cell phones calling and a computer and before any of the 3 got through it was completely sold out. Not a huge George Strait fan but I just went ahead and bit the bullet and purchased the $499 George Strait VIP package and got a seat on the floor 4 rows from the stage. At least my money is not supporting any of those bloodsucking ticket brokers.
