on the forum, look at the side where your profile picture and all that is located. it will say last activity, when you joined, and below that it lists points. i have no idea what their purpose is, but ill try to find out

Now you have 50 Chris! I think we get points as we use the site. Such as posting, sharing photos, videos, blogging, replying to any of these.

I've noticed every time I post in the forum I get more points. I wonder if they have any purpose...

Knowing MCN if they do run a contest, they will zero out the points and have everyone start at the same...but who knows? :)

I doubt if we'll ever find out if they are being used for something.

I agree with Kelly, we will find out. MCN will check in with us here in the forum and let us know if and what purpose the points serve.

It could be that the points are more of a counter like the old 'how many posts' each choir membership had in the old forum as opposed to the actual points on the old site. Just speculation..

That does make sense Drew. The old site did keep track of our posts.

I had a gazillion points that I woulda/shoulda/coulda cashed in on the old site...this one, not so much...

You can earn points by posting in the forum, but no one seems to know what their purpose is

ok, so I had to post so I could see my points (look under your profile pic/join date)

So, what are the points and what are they used for?

Also, why is there no sense of reasoning to the post placement? One would think the most recent post on a subject strand would be on top, yes? But, when I scroll through a topic, the posts are all out of order. Very strange to me.

We don't yet have a purpose for the points. I imagine MCN has something in mind for their future use and will enlighten us at the appropriate time.

The posts are positioned based on which post the user replies to. If the user clicks "Reply" at the top of the page by the original post, then said users post will appear directly below the original post until another user makes a more recent post.

If the user clicks the reply button on another reply, then the user's reply will appear with the original REPLY.

I know it's confusing until you figure it out...I hope this helps.

I don't know if it is a quirky issue if using an iPad...but - I can only Post A Reply if I click upper Reply. If I clck the Reply - say on the Reply Post by you - the box tries tooen, but then freezes up. I've tried to several times. Strange. I at need to try it on my desktop?

That's a glitch that's consistent across other platforms as well (Internet Explorer/Firefox for PC). Hoping MCN is able to resolve this soon. It was reported a couple weeks ago.
