I know there is already a topic for this, but I didn't waste my time trying to find it. I also know there are several stories just like the one I am about to share, but I know the Church Choir is always willing to hear stories like this. I took my friend to the show in Huntington last Saturday. He refers to himself as a "headbanger." All the time leading up to the concert, I kept praising EC and Band and telling him this would not be a typical country show. Reminder: this was to be his first "country" concert ever. So as I am talking the Blood, Sweat and Beers Tour up, he is starting to come around to the idea of going. He soon found out I was correct and totally appreciates everything EC and his band do. He was thoroughly impressed and was thrilled to find out and appreciated that these guys ROCK! He didn't realize "Love Your Love the Most" was an EC song, and before, had associated it with a past girlfriend so he was ready to be annoyed that he had played the song until it was time for "Springsteen" (which by the way, this same girlfriend had texted him about the time this came out to say it reminded her of him). He had always been ready to dismiss "Springsteen" until he heard EC say, "This is about letting a melody connect with a memory, and when you hear this song, it should take you back to this memory." The moment we walked out of the concert, he told me that now when he hears either of those songs, that night will be the memory he connects with them, and "Eric Church was right about that, and I officially like 'Springsteen.'" ECB, your power of song and entertainment is tremendous. I want to personally thank him for what his music has done for me and several of my friends, and now, you just may have a new-found fan.
