Yes, Thomas Rhett is Rhett Akins' son. Thomas Rhett is his stage name, I believe his real name is Thomas Akins. I had the opportunity to see him play an all acoustic set about 2 years ago before he was old enough to even be in the bar he was playing. His songwriting and performance was phenomenal! He also tends to cover some of his dad and the Peach Pickers' songs. I know that was way more information than you asked for....I'm just a big fan of his music :-)

The first time I heard him I thought the same. Then I bought a few of his other songs. They are very good. Not Eric, but good.
