Hopefully this won't sound rude, but I'm glad you're able to afford the VIP Experrience but that doesn't make you special. I've been a fan since 2006 and seen almost every tour since then. I really think I should get a meet and greet every show I go to but that doesn't mean I will. Eric has a ton of commitments before shows. He has meet and greets for the fan club, for the local radio stations, promoters, the VIP experience, and still get ready to put on one of the best shows out there today. Unfortunately he can't give every fan everything they want, but you're lucky enough to get to enjoy the VIP experience. That's something not many people will get to enjoy. I hope you enjoy it for what it is, especialley since they describe exactly what you get in the deal before you buy it. Sorry if this comes out sounding mean or rude that's not the intent.

I didn't take it as being rude and I never said that Eric wasn't very busy but, I don't buy the VIP Passes for the food. I can buy a nice meal for a fraction of the cost. I do it to keep Eric and lable making money. I pay over $400 a show to keep the show going. I have been a fan for a long time also. We are the ones (the fans) that fund the Tours. Please don't make me feel like a hiney hole because I like to support, as much as possible, the tours and the musicians that I like. My mother has worked for The Grand Ol Opry my whole life so I have met my fair share of musicians and I can tell you first hand what can happen to bands that aren't making thir lable the kind of money they want to make. I wish you the best and hope that after reading this little post you decide to buy VIP also. Since your such a big fan I would just assume that you would want to support Eric as much as you could.
I support Eric to the best I can. Unfortunately I can't afford to buy one, never mind multiple VIP experiences. I would love to but can't. My wife and I have spent most of the last two years unemployed and are at risk of losing our house. However each time Eric has come to town we've found away to buy tickets to the shows, when albums have come out I've bought multiple versions of them. Last October I moved down to Texas (from Seattle) for work while my wife stayed in Seattle for now. For my Valentine's present she renewed my Church Choir Memebership and bought me tickets to the Bossier City Show which is the closest show to where I'm at in Texas but it's still over 5 hours away. I'll be spending money we don't have to stay overnight so I won't be too tired to get home in one piece. so just because I can't afford to buy the VIP doesn't mean I don't support eric. If you want to make a donation to me I'll happily go to the VIP. But I'm trying to be responsible. and I take offense to your inference that just because people I don't buy the VIP doesn't mean I don't support Eric. Those of us who can't afford it do everything we can. So thanks for the condescending attitude, I appreciate it, I just never thought I'd hear this kind of thing from a choir member. And by the way when you buy the VIP it specifaclly says you don't get a meet and greet, so either you just want to whine or you didn't read what you were buying very well.
Oh by the way , rather than whining about what I don't get that I might feel I'm entitled to. I am thankful that I for what I do get. A chance to go see Eric and maybe get a meet and greet. It's more than what alot of people including my wife will get. There are thousands of Eric fans who won't get to see him on this tour at all.
I knew that I should have never even replied to your initial post. You started this whole thing with your comments on my first post. I never said anything about being upset about not getting a meet and greet. All I said is that it would be nice to get one with the VIP package especially for choir members. YOU basically were treating me as if I were a snob just because I purchase VIP packages. Do you think I'm going to get upset or mad if I don't get a meet and greet with my VIP package? NO! Is this anywhere close to my first time purchasing VIP packages and not get a meet and greet? NO! Will this be the last time that I purchase a VIP package and not get a meet and greet? NO! Do I think it's Eric fault there aren't more meet and greets? NO! I was just making a simple request or suggestion. I was never trying to turn this into a debate weather I'm a bigger fan or better person than you. I hope you and your wife get a meet and greet every show as far as that goes. Why would you criticize me because I purchase VIP packages? Would it make you feel better if I just purchase a nose bleed ticket? I just think we need to let this go because your taking this way too personal. Me personally, I would never put myself in a touchy financial position to go see a show. As much as I love a good show my family's well being comes first. Why don't we just say that you are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine. We can say we are both right and we are both wrong. I again wish you the best in every way.
P.S. I can assure you that I read every little word of the VIP package description. I know exactly what comes with it every time I click submit on the ticket purchase.
Well....that would be nice....but you know that everyone would vie for more then 10seconds...and you have 200 people now for a M&G....and I remember those 200 people m&gs they lasted HOURS....not minutes....
As for Parkerd's reply....I had the same knee jerk reaction to your post...."Since your such a big fan I would just assume that you would want to support Eric as much as you could."
He *IS* supporting Eric as much as he can. I am too...and I can't afford to even see Eric on this tour. I've been "supporting" him for 6 years now....I used to make business cards for him & stickers and hand them out at shows & have a huge stack for the merch table....they'd have them for several shows following mine.
I think everyone who gets to go to see him this tour are incredibly lucky....and if they can afford the VIP....they are extrodinarily lucky.

Patti,
I think you put it very nicely (and respectfully). We all do what we can afford to; financially, geographically, and time-wise.
Until now, I had no idea of some of the things that you had been doing years ago to help get EC and the ECB out there for others to hear. You rock!
Patti, you definitely rock for all that you do for the show. The only reason that I made that hurtful comment is because how he made me feel like a snob for purchasing VIP packages to the shows. I would have never just came out and attacked him without a reason. I am in a position to be able to purchase VIP packages so that's what I do. Is ther a way for me to delete this entire thread??????
p.b. I didn't intend this to be a war I'm sorry it turned into one. I'm glad we a are all EC fans he's an honest and talented musician who deserves support. I'm glad there are people who can afford to support Eric by buying multiple VIP packages, and those who can only hope he'll come near them so they can see a show from anywhere in the arena, yet still buy the albums.
There is no right and wrong in our exchanges, the important thing is we are both passionate EC fans who are doing everything they can to support him and the band and hopefully bring him to even more people. Peace, I hope one day we can sit down and have a drink together, preferably at a show.
Let's all just put a drink in our hands and have a great weekend!
I think everyone has posted with sincere intentions. There have been shows I couldnt afford to go to at all. But, I was blessed this tour and was in a position to buy myself and my husband VIP (after much saving!) I thought EC singing a couple acoustics and being in that small setting with the chance to take up close pictures was amazing. But that aside.....
Let's face it - the economy sucks! One of the things that I love so much about Eric Church --- he fights the scalpers. He WANTS fans like US to be able to afford his shows! He never loses sight is where he comes from. He's a stand up guy and I so respect him for caring about his fans so much!

Well said AKA, as long as we all support him to the best of our abilities he'll keep putting out kick ass music.
I think we, as devoted Eric Church fans, and for patti's prior hard work for getting his name out there. Should throw in some money and get Patti some pit tickets to her local EC show. Just a thought? Can't leave EC fans behind on this tour!
