So, my husband and I bought tickets to the Alan Jackson Concert coming to Tulsa in September, but not for Alan Jackson, but because Brantley Gilbert is his opener and my husband and I love him, but I just thought they didn't seem to mesh well. Brantley is so much more in your face country rock and we all know ALan's music is much more mainstream country. Now, ECB and BG would be great, but I think BG might be a shock to a lot of the Alan Jackson fans. Have any of you all been to this pairing yet?
I totally agree about the set, I hope it is ore than 15 minutes. We haven't decided yet, I was kind of thinking about posting it on craigslist that after BG we would switch somebody seats for a small fee :) because we are in the pit next to the stage, but I don't know if Alan's fanbase is rowdy enough to care about being next to the stage.
Is it just BG with AJ or will Gloriana be there too? I saw AJ with Gloriana and they played about 4 songs. Also, up here no one seemed wicked excited to see AJ and people weren't even standing or anything... so I unless it's different where you are, probably not too rowdy ;)
Have fun at BG!

Nope not seen this pairing but I am seeing Brantley for the first time this weekend in a club (holds about 1000 peeps). Looking forward to it....

Patti, pleae let me know what you think! We saw him at CMA Fest, but it was a really short set too, and I would like to know how he is when he plays more songs. I am sure it is like EC and will be amazing!
I'll try to remember to come back and post lol.
One of our Choir members, Cory, convinced me to go see Brantley. I picked up his CDs and I like them.....so I'm giving him a try.
Brantley Gilbert is awesome! I just saw him this past Wednesday. It was a free outdoor concert, so there were so many people. He brought so much energy to the stage and played from 9:30-11. You won't be disappointed. As for Alan Jackson, saw him two years ago and put on a great show too. You'll have a great time!

Negative but would love to hear how the show is. Are you two planning on staying for the whole show? I hope BG gets a decent size set in!
