On the heels of winning ACM Video of the Year Award for “Mr. Misunderstood” earlier this month, Eric Church has premiered his new music video for current single, “Record Year,” on Vevo earlier today with a broadcast debut on CMT’s Hot 20 Countdown this Saturday, April 30. The music video again enlists directors John Peets and Reid Long and features teenager McKinley James who starred in the music video for “Mr. Misunderstood” and appears on the cover art of Church’s highly acclaimed album by the same name.

Eric Church is again taking strong action to ensure his fans come first. Last November, he revealed to the more than 80,000 members of the Church Choir that inspiration had struck and resulted in his new album Mr. Misunderstood, which he shared with them first and free of charge before putting it on sale. That insistence that his fans come first now has him standing up to scalpers in light of recent on-sales for his back-to-back intimate engagements at Red Rocks Amphitheater.
"I get asked all the time about my favorite venue, and I always answer the same way. Red Rocks. When people ask why, I just smile and say, 'you must not have been there.' It's truly breathtaking," Eric shares. "I'm honored to have two shows there."

Eric Church drops his second single "Record Year" from Mr. Misunderstood at Country radio today. The new single namechecks Stevie Wonder's Songs In The Key of Life, Willie Nelson's Red Headed Stranger, John Lee Hooker's One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer among others from Church's stack of vinyl. Upon the album's surprise release last November, Rolling Stone Magazine dubbed the new single the "most moving moment" on the widely-lauded album.
Church co-wrote "Record Year" with longtime banjo player and guitarist Jeff Hyde who has previously collaborated on hits such as the three-week No. 1 "Springsteen" (along with Ryan Tyndell) from Chief and the Top 20 "Smoke a Little Smoke" (written by Church and Hyde alongside other bandmate Driver Williams) from Carolina.

It’s the second time in six months Eric has taken the leading nominations total at a major awards after earning five for the 2015 CMA Awards in November. The College Football Playoff (CFP) today announced a star-studded lineup for pregame festivities during the College Football Playoff National Championship, Monday, January 11, 2016, at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Eric Church will headline Championship Tailgate, taking place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mountain time. He will perform on the Capital One Quicksilver Music Stage.
The interactive area adjacent to University of Phoenix Stadium will allow fans to gather and enjoy games, sponsor activities, concessions and ESPN broadcast sets. The event is free for all ticket holders attending the national championship game.

After wrapping earlier than expected at a private event in his home state, Eric found himself only an hour and a half away from the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame ceremony where his mother, Rita Church, accompanied by his sister Kendra, were attending the induction to accept the invitation on his behalf. Realizing he had no time to spare, Eric borrowed the keys to his father Ken's vehicle and--with his wife Katherine and assistant Marshall Alexander in tow--they rushed in an attempt to make it to the Gem Theater in time for the dedication.
